Michael A. Maxey Jr. was born in Alabama in 1972 and received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1993. He earned his J.D. from Chapman University School of Law in 2002 with certificates of emphasis in Tax Law and Real Estate, Land Use and Environmental Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2002, and admitted to the United States District Courts of the Northern, Central, and Eastern Districts of California in 2003. He is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association.
Mr. Maxey’s practice emphasizes in the areas of personal injury and commercial disputes. He has represented clients throughout California and in Canada, and his practice finds him advocating on behalf of clients in both trial and appellate courts, as well as in alternative resolution proceedings. He is also a licensed real estate broker.
Prior to joining Schofield & Associates PLC Mr. Maxey practiced at Stevens, Drummond & Gifford in Walnut Creek, California. Prior to that, he was with the Law Offices of Robert R. Powell in San Jose, California. During law school, Mr. Maxey was an extern with the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District, an extern with the Orange County Counsel’s office, and a law clerk for the Orange County Public Defender.
